We are almost always looking for great part-time employees. Each of our locations may have different hours available. We schedule to fit our business needs. Because we operate several great locations, we may have something to fit your availability right in your own neighborhood. Qualified applicants must be at least 16 years old.

Position Title: Sales Associate

JOB SUMMARY:  Provides excellent customer service, stocks, and maintains interior and exterior Stationstore appearance.  Operates cash register and is responsible for cash accountability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide great customer service to every customer. This includes greeting all customers, ringing up sales, answering questions, assisting customers with finding merchandise, thanking customers and asking them to come back again.
  • Wear company provided and approved uniforms, nametags, and marketing materials. Maintain uniform cleanliness and overall appearance.
  • Display a team attitude and work effectively with other employees and management staff.
  • Maintain store appearance by stocking shelves and coolers, cleaning floors, windows, restrooms, and emptying trash. This may include outside activities.
  • Assist with stocking, cleaning, and maintaining a clean and sanitary foodservice area.
  • Work in a fast paced environment while always remaining helpful and courteous to customers and coworkers.
  • Follow company policy and training regarding legal alcohol and tobacco sales.
  • Notify management of schedule requests as far in advance as possible. Work with management in balancing scheduling needs.
  • Fulfill Job Functions (see below).

Position Title: Sales Associate

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To create loyal customers
  • Provide customers with courteous, efficient service in a way that encourages them to come back
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Prevent gasoline theft and inventory losses
  • Process all register transactions and handle currency to ensure employee safety and to protect company funds
  • Receive, verify, and process merchandise and vendor shipments
  • Stock and display merchandise and supplies to prevent being out of stock on an item a customer stopped in to purchase
  • Clean and maintain interior and exterior Stationstore appearance to attract and retain customers
  • Assist training new associates (with an emphasis on excellent customer service) when necessary
  • Monitor and maintain all food service areas to company standards that will attract and retain customers while preventing illness
  • Assist food service areas to meet customers needs
  • Perform as a cooperative team member in all aspects of the Stationstore's operation
  • Other duties as requested by authorized personnel

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Customer service-oriented/excellent customer service skills
  • Communicate effectively with customers, management, and employees
  • Ability to walk and stand on feet for most of the shift (90% of time)
  • Reach over your head frequently and comfortably
  • Lift, carry, pull, or push up to 60 pounds
  • Bend, kneel, squat or stand
  • Work in a heated and/or freezer area
  • Climb an extension ladder

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • Attending or completion of High School or equivalent

We often promote from within for shift leader and management jobs. We do however, accept applications for these positions and are always looking for great candidates. Schedules for Shift Leaders and Management will typically include up to two evening shifts and two or more weekends each month.

  • Assess store condition and service quality and respond as needed to meet company standards.
  • Share knowledge, information, and offer direction with a positive attitude to coworkers.
  • Motivate coworkers by setting the pace, demonstrating the standards, and being up front in the customer service area utilizing solid management practices.
  • Follow company procedures and policies to manage cash, minimize shrink, and maximize profitability.

All The Gas Stop associates must be able to perform the following essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.   • Be able to read, understand and write the English language at the eighth grade level
  • Be able to perform mathematical calculations at the eight grade level in order to make change, complete shift reports and account for numbers of a variety of products during vendor check-in
  • Have sufficient visual acuity to check identifications
  • Be able to read and understand instructions for operating electronic cash registers and other equipment
  • Be able to lift up to 60 pounds, carrying cases of milk cartons and soft drinks, beer and juice containers, etc., up to four hours per shift
  • Be able to stock shelves and coolers, top to bottom and front to back
  • Be able to tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products
  • Be able to climb a ladder to clean windows
  • Be able to speak and understand English, including the ability to hear the spoken word
  • Be able to sweep and mop floors, shovel snow, dust shelves, and lift and carry out trash containers and place in an outside bin
  • Be able to clean the parking lot and grounds surrounding the convenience store
  • Be able to enter and work in a cooler at a temperature of 34 degrees up to 60 minutes at a time
  • Be able to work each and every scheduled day and work the full shift
  • Be able to stand for a long time, up to 10 hours a shift (if necessary)
  • Be able to use the computer for training purposes
  • Be able to bend at the knees repetitiously (20-30 times a day) and be able to walk briskly
